A Little Dream Growing with Beads, Stories, and Love

Hi, friends! I’m Mel (she/her), a Design & Communication double major student at UC Davis. I’m also a jewelry designer and the owner of MUMU CRAFT.

Since I was young, I’ve been fascinated with collecting beautiful beads ✨ like crystals, pearls, ceramic, and glass. I used them to make little necklaces, earrings, and hair charms to decorate my dolls.

One day, I made a custom bracelet for a friend. She was so surprised and wore it to school — and then I started getting more custom requests from classmates. I felt so proud and inspired to see almost every girl (even my teacher!) wearing my bracelets ☺️.

At the time, I didn’t realize I was already starting a jewelry business 🤔.
Until one day, while I was making bracelets in my mom’s clothing store, a lady came in and noticed a bracelet I had placed on the counter. She asked if I could sell it to her for her daughter. Both my mom and I were so surprised 🥹 — and that became my first order ever 🎊.

Since then, I’ve kept learning new skills and techniques in jewelry making. I find inspiration in natural elements like flowers and animals, and I love turning things I care about into delicate designs.

Today, I’ve started MUMU CRAFT, a cozy little shop where I can create more delicate jewelry for you. I’m so grateful for everyone who has supported this dream, and I hope to bring even more beautiful things into your life. 🎐
